COMPARATIVE STUDY OF GEONYMS IN UZBEK, ENGLISH AND KOREAN LANGUAGES

This article is devoted to the study of linguistic features of geonyms in Uzbek, English and Korean languages in a comparative aspect. The research analyzes structural, semantic and ethnolinguistic aspects of geographical names existing in three languages. The sources of geonym formation, their lexico-semantic grouping, morphological structure, as well as national-cultural features are examined through comparative method. The results show that the geonymic system of each language has its own characteristics, which reflect the historical development of the respective people, geographical environment and cultural traditions. The research results have theoretical significance in the fields of onomastics, comparative linguistics and linguoculturology.
